Can You Hear Me Now?
Having ear plugs in interferes with your ability to hear properly. Nothing is broken or damaged, just interference is present. It is just like when you have a subluxation, there is interference present between your brain and body. Therefor, get regular check-ups from your Chiropractor to see if you are subluxated. It is as simple as that.

SPASMODIC HEALING

Question: What is Spasmodic Healing?
Answer: It's the lack of continuous healing from one correction to the next.
If the patient needs an alignment correction on every visit, they are experiencing Spasmodic Healing. The body’s natural self-healing process is interrupted when the patient fails to maintain their alignment between corrections. So when did they need another correction? ... Later that day ... the next day ... the next week?Spasmodic Healing happens when the healing process is not continuous. Obviously, if a patient requires a correction on each visit, It's time to re-evaluate: Are you applying your corrective procedure effectively?New x-rays ... The correction formula may have changed.Question the patient ... they may be causing the frequent misalingment to occur. Restricted brain to body communication leads to the development of acute and chronic health problems. Continuous healing is the ultimate in Total Wellness and the Key to Optimal Health.Holding your alignment correction -- is-- Healing!Maintaining it -- is -- health maintenance at its Best! A correction on every visit -- is -- akin to manipulation!

Two Of The Most Important Questions in Chiropractic
1. What can only you offer the world?
This is a Big question because as of today Chiropractors give the world something so special and so unique. We as Chiropractors must spread the message of our vitalistic philosophy.
That there is a Universal Intelligence in all matter and it continualy gives to it all of its properties and actions thus maintaining it in existence.
We must wake people up to the fact that they are the true healers, not the Chiropractor as long as there is no interference.
Chiropractic is so Great, so Simple, so Important to the world that only We can offer.
The next post will be the other important question.

Take 100% Responsibility For Your Life - Starting Today

This isn’t a trick question.
Certainly you know the answer—the person who has been responsible for the life you live right now: YOU.
Everything about you is a result of your doing or not doing... Your income. Debt. Relationships. Health. Fitness level. Attitudes and behaviors.
I've often said that you are either creating or allowing everything that is happening in your life.
I think everyone knows this in their hearts, but often times people convince themselves into thinking that external factors are the source of their failure, disappointment, and unhappiness.
External factors do not determine how you live. YOU are in complete control of the quality of your life, by either creating or allowing the circumstances you experience.
When I hear people complain about the state of their life (be it their problems with personal finances, weight, their jobs, or general dissatisfaction), I like to help them see things differently.
If they feel “stuck” and unable to move forward for whatever reason, I ask them to scrutinize both what is working well and what isn’t working well in their life and see how they’ve arrived at where they currently are.
For example, if a woman tells me she’s unhappy with her weight—she travels frequently, and has no to time to exercise or seek healthy foods—I point out that her weight is not a result of her travels and schedule. It’s an outcome of what she chooses to eat and how she chooses to move, regardless of her daily agenda. Why not make a conscious effort to pre-plan healthy meals and snacks, even if it’s on the go, and sneak in 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there to be physically active (hey, I know some frequent flyers that make it a habit of running through airports!).
If you’re frustrated with any area in your life, then it’s time to take a little inventory.
Certainly there are wonderful things happening, whether it’s your job, your romantic relationship, your children, your friends, or your income level. Your accomplishments are just as important as your missteps.
First, congratulate yourself on your successes; and then take a look at what isn’t working out so well. What are you doing or not doing to create those experiences?
Watch out! If you find yourself beginning to complain about everything but the choices you’ve made, then you need to take a step back. See if you can stop blaming outside factors for your unhappiness.
When you realize that you—and only you—create your experiences, you’ll realize that you can un-create them and forge new experiences whenever you want.
How empowering is that!
You must take responsibility for your happiness and your unhappiness, your successes and your failures, your good times and your bad times.
All too often we choose to claim the successes and blame the failures on others or other circumstances. When you stop blaming, however, you can take that energy and redirect it to focus on shaping a better situation for yourself. Blaming only ties up your energy. Imagine roping all the energy into a positive effort.
Some ideas to make this happen:
1. Believe, Believe, Believe! Have unwavering faith in yourself, for good and bad. Make the decision to accept the fact that you create all your experiences. You will experience successes thanks to you, and you will experience pain, struggle, and strife thanks to you. Sounds a little strange, but accepting this level of responsibility is uniquely empowering. It means you can do, change, and be anything. Stumbling blocks become just that—little hills to hop over.
2. Take no less than 100% responsibility . Successful people take full responsibility for the thoughts they think, the images they visualize, and the actions they take. They don't waste their time and energy blaming and complaining. They evaluate their experiences and decide if they need to change them or not. They face the uncomfortable and take risks in order to create the life they want to live.
3. Stop complaining . Look at what you are complaining about. I’m fat. I’m tired. I can’t get out of debt. I won’t ever get a better job. I can’t stand the relationship I have with my sister. I’ll never find a soulmate in life. Really examine your complaints. More than likely you can do something about them. They are not about other people, other things, or other events. They are about YOU.
4. Make an immediate change. Are you unhappy about something that is happening right now? Make requests that will make it more desirable to you, or take the steps to change it yourself. Making a change might be uncomfortable for you. It might mean you have to put in more time, money, and effort. It might mean that someone gets upset about it, or makes you feel bad about your decision. It might be difficult to change or leave a situation, but staying put is your choice so why continue to complain?
You can either do something about it or not. It is your choice and you have responsibility for your choices.
5. Pay attention. Looking to others for help and guidance is helpful, but don’t forget to stay tuned in to yourself—your behavior, attitude, and life experiences. Identify what’s working and what isn’t. If you need to, write it all down. Then…
6. Face the truth and take action for the long term . You have to be willing to change your behavior if you want a different outcome. You have to be willing to take the risks necessary to get what you want. If you’ve already taken an initial step in the right direction, now’s the time to plan additional steps to keep moving you forward, faster.
Isn’t it a great relief to know that you can make your life what you want it to be? Isn’t it wonderful that your successes do not depend on someone else?
If you need just one thing to do different today, than you did yesterday, make it this:
Commit to taking 100% responsibility for every aspect of your life. Decide to make changes, one step at a time. Once you start the process you’ll discover it's much easier to get what you want by taking control of your thoughts, your visualizations, and your actions!

Retracing

What is retracing? Retracing means going over ground which has already been covered until the individual reaches the point from which they started. Ex) If you go on a walk past a green, yellow, brown, and tan house, to retrace, you have to walk past the tan, brown, yellow, and green house to get back to the beginning place where you started.
Sometimes symptoms that have not manifested for months or even years will reoccur. People's first impression is that they are getting worse when they are really experiencing a retracing of the several stages through which the disease progressed in the making.
It is as simple as that.

Decide What You Want for Yourself in 2010

In order to get what you want, you must first decide what you want.
Most people really foul up at this crucial first step because they simply can’t see how it’s possible to get what they want — so they don’t even let themselves want it.
What scientists now know about how the brain works is that you must first decide the 'WHAT' before your brain can figure out the 'HOW'.
Once you lock-in your desires, your mind and the universe can step in.
Are you ready to get started?
STEP 1: Decide to Dream BIG and Be Willing to Dream BIG DreamsBig dreams not only inspire you, but they also compel others to want to play big, too. Don’t think you should only dream big during economic heydays. Dream big every day, especially during tough times.
As soon as you commit to a big dream and really go after it, your subconscious creative mind will come up with big ideas to make it happen. You’ll start attracting the people, resources, and opportunities you need into your life to make your dreams come true.
STEP 2: Set Goals That Will Stretch YouAnother value in giving yourself permission to go after the big dreams is that big dreams require you to grow in order to achieve them. In fact, in the long run, this is the greatest benefit you will receive from pursuing your dreams — not so much the outer trappings of fulfilling the dream (an expensive car, impressive house, loads of money and philanthropic opportunities), but who you become in the process.
As I’ve seen many times over, the outer symbols of success can all be easily lost. Houses burn down, companies go bankrupt, relationships end, cars get old, bodies age and fame wanes, but who you are, what you have learned, and the new skills you have developed never go away. These are the true prizes of success.
STEP 3: Service to OthersAs you pinpoint what you want to go after, think about how you can be of service to others. When your dreams include this element, you’ll find yourself speeding along the path to accomplishing that goal. People want to be part of something that makes a difference.
STEP 4: Turn Your Dreams into Goals and ObjectivesOnce you are clear about what you want, you must turn each item into a measurable goal. By measurable, I mean measurable in space and time, how much and by when. Don’t just say that you want to lose weight, for instance. Be specific, push yourself to higher limits, and set dates. Say something like, “I want to lose 50 pounds by summer and participate in my community’s 10K for charity by the 4th of July.”
Similarly, your boss, your friends, your spouse, your brain — God, the Universe — can’t figure out what you want unless you specifically tell them what it is.
What do you want — exactly — and when do you want it by?
Step 5: Write Your Goals DownWrite your goals down in detail, and read your list of goals every day. This will keep your subconscious mind focused on what you want. For an even more powerful approach, close your eyes and focus on each goal and ask yourself, "What is one thing I could do today to move toward the achievement of this goal?" Write down your answers and take those actions.
I recommend writing down a minimum of 3 goals in each of the following 7 areas:
1. Financial Goals2. Career/Business Goals3. Free Time/Family Time 4. Health/Appearance Goals 5. Relationship Goals6. Personal Growth 7. Making a Difference/Contribution

The Law Of The Farm

The law of the farm is to close the gate first so the animals don't get out or leave. This means during your consultation, assessment, report of findings, and orientation you must get clear just what you are trying to accomplish and what the rules are before beginning care. For example, your objective might be to get a straight line on a scan and balance someones legs. If someone comes in to get checked for subluxation and they have a straight line, balanced legs, but also have symptoms, they will know that they don't need to get adjusted that day and this is great, as long as you closed the gate first and explained the rules and get an agreement about it. If you do this, it will make locating and correcting subluxations much easier in your office.

Spotlight: Rosen Coaching

Rosen Coaching at http://www.rosencoaching.com/ has tons of free information to help you be a better Chiropractor, check out the website today. Dr. Angie Meyer was our last interview of The Last Chiropractor interview on blogtalkradio.com, one of the coaches at Rosen Coaching. Below is information from their website on the benefits of a coach.
Benefits Of Working With A Coach
What is needed?
Coaching is proven to work when two factors are present:
The client is willing to learn, grow and take action
There is a gap between where he/she is now and where he/she wants to be
That's all that is necessary for a successful coaching relationship where you can develop the right strategy, implement a plan of action, and achieve your goals. Anything is possible within our coaching relationship. With a coach you can:
Take More, Better, and Smarter Actions
Our first task together is to find out exactly what you really want for yourself. Once you create objectives that are clearly in line with your professional vision, you are much more likely to naturally and consistently take actions to reach them.
Have A Balanced Life, Which Works Well
Professional success is maximized when you enjoy a sense of personal fulfillment and life balance. We will discuss how to be selfish yet responsible, and how to carve out enough time so your life outside of work is exactly the way you want it to be.
Make Better Decisions
We will help you become focused as you share ideas with us. We will understand you and be subjective enough to want a lot for you, yet objective enough not to be biased or self-serving. You'll also find that just talking about your options with someone who really listens is often enough to clarify things.
Reach For More-Much More
When you have a partner you trust, you will reach for much more because you can afford to. Are you ready to think big and really live your life fully? I am a partner who will enable you to take your life wherever you want it to go.
Make and Keep More Money
Most people are worth a lot more than they are making. Are you happy with your financial situation? If not, we can look at your beliefs about money and address whatever is keeping you from experiencing financial abundance.
Have More Sustainable Energy
Together we'll identify the things that drain your energy, and create a long-term strategy to eliminate them. In addition, we'll focus on the things that give you energy, and explore how to maximize their impact. When you're happy, productive, and free from tolerations and problems, life is a lot more fun!

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on all of the things in our lives that we are thankful for, to spend time with friends and family, recharge our batteries and get ready to end the year on a strong note.
As a Chiropractor I am thankful to be able to practice Chiropractic as it was designed to be practiced. To locate and correct a subluxation in anyone that presents to me whether they are old or young, have symptoms or not, whether they have insurance or not.
Chiropractic is so simple and pure in it's philosophy, science, and art. It is refreshing to think that when someone presents to you that is subluxated, and you remove the nerve interference, just how much that you can benefit that person and all of the people in their life.
Remember to give thanks for all of the Chiropractors that paved the way for us to practice today. I am thankful for all of the people that give great testimonials towards Chiropractic and Chiropractors. I will do my best to leave the state of Chiropractic in a better state than when I first became a DC on August 7, 1993. - MWH

What Is The Most Important Part Of The Patient Visit?

I feel like a mosquito in a nudist colony, there is so much to cover, I don't know where to start.
Question: What is the most important part of the patient visit?
Answer: The post check or post analysis. It is as simple as that.
It doesn't matter what technique you are using, it matters what your pre and post analysis is to make sure that you removed any or all of the subluxations present on that particular visit. If you want to be 100% congruent and of the highest integrity you must be willing to do post checks after your adjustments or else you can't honestly say that you did your best at removing subluxation on that visit.
Some chiropractors think the most important thing on each visit is patient education/communication. I agree that patient education/communication is very important, however, if you do a great consult, exam, report of findings, and orientation, the patient will be on the right track with chiropractic and you can continue to do thirty second tips of the day and questions to further their chiropractic understanding and education of chiropractic.
If you don't correct the interference between the brain and the body and can't back that up with post checks, then this will lead to uncertainty, contradiction, and doubt. I wouldn't want to go to a doctor that was uncertain, contradictory and full of doubt.

Chiropractic Defined by Reggie

The wonders of Chiropractic are so simple that they're almost not worth discussing. You could discuss the whole thing in one sentence. The correction of subluxation allows the body to work at full potential, in the same way that the subluxation, by its very presence, inhibits the function of the body. The big idea in Chiropractic is that if you have a subluxation you'd be better off without it. It is as simple as that.
Performance is always directed and controlled by body chemistry. If your chemistry is normal under the body's own innate control, then the functions of the body are as perfect as they are ever going to get. Body chemistry is controlled by the billions of cells that make the chemicals. The cells that make the chemicals are controlled by the nerve system and the nerves are protected by bone. A subluxation develops. That causes one of two problems humanity has. There are only two diseases: too much or too little. You either have too much of this chemical or too little of that one. If the chemicals are perfect and under the brain's control, then the body functions at its own maximum potential. Not necessarily perfection, but the best it's capable of doing.
Chiropractic's role should be to bring about the correction of subluxation. Actually, the chiropractor doesn't adjust but introduces a force intelligently contrived in the hope that the body will then be able to adapt that force into and adjustment. The body alone knows where the bone belongs.

Does The Adjustment Get Sick People Well?

NO
What do you do to get stronger? You lift weights. Try lifting weights for several hours, and then lift as much as you can. Does this make you lift more weight? Actually lifting weights breaks muscle down, it is the time between workouts that makes you stronger.
The body's healing ability and the adjustment holding time is what gets you well.
What is the job of the adjustment? To unlock the bone, so the body can make the adjustment.
It is as simple as that.

HE DID HIS BEST

When I am dead, if men can say,
I helped the world upon its way;
With all my faults of word and deed
Mankind did have some little need
For what I’ve done—then in my grave
No greater honor shall I crave.
If they can say—if they but can—
“He did his best, he played the man,
His ways were straight; his soul was clean;
His failings not unkind nor mean.
He loved his fellow man and tried
To help him”—I’ll be satisfied.
But when I’m gone, if only one
Will weep because my life is gone
And feel the world is somewhat bare
Because I am no longer there—
Call me a knave, my life misspent—
No matter. I shall be content.

Chunk-Down That Goal and Get Out of Overwhelm

Sometimes our biggest life goals seem so overwhelming.
We rarely see them as a series of small, achievable tasks, but in reality, breaking down a large goal into smaller tasks—and accomplishing them one at a time—is exactly how any big goal gets achieved.
After you have decided what you really want, with specific deadlines, the next step is to determine all of the individual action steps you will need to take to accomplish your goal.
How to Chunk It Down
There are several ways to figure out the action steps you will need to take to accomplish any goal. One is to consult with people who have already done what you want to do and ask what steps they took. From their experience, they can give you all of the necessary steps as well as advice on what pitfalls to avoid.
Another way is to purchase a book or manual that outlines the process.
Yet another way is to start from the end and look backward. You simply close your eyes and imagine that it is now the future and you have already achieved your goal. Then just look back and see what you had to do to get to where you now are. What was the last thing you did? And then the thing before that, and then the thing before that, until you arrive at the first action you had to start with.
Remember that it is okay not to know how to do something.
It’s okay to ask for guidance and advice from those who do know. Sometimes you can get it free, and sometimes you have to pay for it. Get used to asking, “Can you tell me how to go about...?” and “What would I have to do to...?” and “How did you...?”
Keep researching and asking until you can create a realistic action plan that will get you from where you are to where you want to go.
What will you need to do? How much money will you need to save or raise? What new skills will you need to learn? What resources will you need to mobilize? Who will you need to enroll in your vision? Who will you need to ask for assistance? What new disciplines or habits will you need to build into your life?
Another valuable technique for creating an action plan for your goals is called mind mapping.
How to Use Mind Mapping
Mind mapping is a simple but powerful process for creating a detailed to-do list for achieving your goal. It lets you determine what information you’ll need to gather, who you’ll need to talk to, what small steps you’ll need to take, how much money you’ll need to earn or raise, which deadlines you’ll need to meet, and so on—for each and every goal.
When I began creating my first educational audio program—a breakthrough goal that led to extraordinary gains for me and my business—I used mind mapping to help me “chunk down” that very large goal into all the individual tasks I would need to complete to produce a finished product.
To mind-map your own goals, follow these steps as illustrated in the example:
1.) Center circle: In the center circle, jot down the name of your stated goal—in this case, Create an Audio Educational Program.
2.) Outside circles: Next, divide the goal into the major categories of tasks you’ll need to accomplish to achieve the greater goal—in this case, Title, Studio, Topics, Audience, and so on.
3.) Spokes: Then, draw spokes radiating outward from each mini-circle and label each one (such as Write Copy, Color Picture for Back Cover, and Arrange Lunch.)
On a separate line connected to the minicircle, write every single step you’ll need to take. Break down each one of the more detailed task spokes with action items to help you create your master to-do list.
Next, Make a Daily To-Do List
Once you’ve completed a mind map for your goal, convert all of the to-do items into daily action items by listing each one on your daily to-do lists and committing to a completion date for each one. Then schedule them in the appropriate order into your calendar and do whatever it takes to stay on schedule.
Do First Things First
The goal is to stay on schedule and complete the most important item first. In his excellent book, Eat That Frog! 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time, Brian Tracy reveals not just how to conquer procrastination but also how to prioritize and complete all of your action items.
In his unique system, Brian advises goal-setters to identify the one to five things you must accomplish on any given day, and then pick the one you absolutely must do first. This becomes your biggest and ugliest frog.
He then suggests you accomplish that task first—in essence, eat that frog first—and, by so doing; make the rest of your day much, much easier. It’s a great strategy. But unfortunately, most of us leave the biggest and ugliest frog for last, hoping it will go away or somehow become easier. It never does. However, when you accomplish your toughest task early in the day, it sets the tone for the rest of your day.
By chunking down your goals, and then taking daily action on them, you create momentum and build your confidence, both of which move you farther and faster toward the achievement of your goals.
Now go take some action!

Chiropractic Is 114 Years Old

with an annual observance commemorating September 18th,
1895 as Chiropractic Founder’s Day.
On this day, 114 years ago, Dr. Daniel David Palmer administered the
first specific chiropractic adjustment on Harvey Lillard in
Davenport Iowa. Dr. D.D. Palmer delivered this historic first chiropractic
adjustment with the specific intent of realigning a malpositioned
vertebra on the patient, restoring its normal position, and Harvey
Lillard, who had lost most of his hearing 17 years earlier, noted
his hearing rapidly returned under Dr. Palmer’s care. From that point
D.D. Palmer shifted his clinical practice to his new methods of replacing
spinal bones that were out of position, and experienced positive
clinical results in patients with a wide variety of health concerns. His
practice grew and the profession of chiropractic was launched.
The theory and clinical basis of chiropractic was succinctly described as “Founded on Tone” in 1910 in a book authored by Dr. Palmer, and over subsequent years the science, art and philosophy of this unique and special approach to health care was further described and detailed. A landmark text published in 1927 by Dr. R.W. Stephenson outlined key aspects of the chiropractic approach to health and healing in a listing of 33 Principles.
